Prepare

Makes about 1 Liter. Serve in punch or cocktail glasses.

1 pint Strawberries
1 Cara Cara orange
1 hand Ginger Slices
26g honey or agave
140 mL Fresh Squeezed orange juice
150 mL Brandy
450 mL Strawberry Shiso Iced Tea
245 mL Sangiovese Red Wine

Directions

Cut Cara Cara orange into slices and then sixths. Remove strawberry greens and cut strawberries into 1/2 cm slices. Peel ginger root and slice into 1/2 cm slices. Add half to 3/4 of cut Cara Cara orange, half pint of cut strawberries and all of ginger to pitcher. Muddle gently to release juices of fruit, leaving fruit intact, making sure to smash ginger root. Add sweetener and orange juice to fruit mixture and stir. Add brandy, Strawberry Shiso Iced Tea, and Sangiovese and stir to integrate fully. Build out glasses with ice and remaining fruit and serve.

Strawberry Shiso Iced Tea

Add 14-16 grams Strawberry Shiso to a 650 mL Simple Brew. Add 250mL hot water, steep 6 minutes and crash with 250mL cold water. Strain and chill in refrigerator.
